YMCA of Downtown Manchester

To support our members' needs, a food pantry has been created and will be open every Thursday afternoon. As a Food Pantry volunteer, you will: ✅ Create a welcoming and safe space for the community ✅ Organize donated goods, ensuring they are within date and safe to distribute ✅ Make an immediate impact! 📆 SHIFT SCHEDULE 🕜 3:00PM - 4:00PM: Prepare the pantry studio space - organizing food and personal hygiene items, assist with inventory 4:00PM - 6:00PM: Open Food Pantry hours - assist community members with selecting items To see available dates and times, please see the calendar below. 🚨 FIRST TIME VOLUNTEERS: Please complete a "First Time Volunteer" application linked at the bottom of this page. We want to ensure you receive all necessary training to be fully prepared for your first shift!🚨

*NOW SCHEDULING FOR SPRING SESSION VOLUNTEERS* Reading Buddies at YMCA of Downtown Manchester is a youth literacy support program designed to help children strengthen their reading skills through positive, one-on-one interactions with caring volunteers. Volunteers serve as role models while fostering a love for reading. This initiative not only supports academic development, but also helps the children build confidence. Join us in making a lasting impact - one book at a time! 📖 ***CURRENTLY FULL***Fall Session: Wednesday, October 8 - November 12 📖 Spring Session: Wednesday, March 11 - April 15 📆 SHIFT SCHEDULE 🕜 3:30PM - 3:45PM: Volunteers arrive and prepare the room with tables, chairs, and books 3:45PM - 4:15PM: Kids arrive, choose books, READ! 4:15PM - 4:30PM: Volunteers reorganize the space
