To support our members' needs, a food pantry has been created and will be open every Thursday afternoon. As a Food Pantry volunteer, you will: ✅ Create a welcoming and safe space for the community ✅ Organize donated goods, ensuring they are within date and safe to distribute ✅ Make an immediate impact! 📆 SHIFT SCHEDULE 🕜 3:00PM - 4:00PM: Prepare the pantry studio space - organizing food and personal hygiene items, assist with inventory 4:00PM - 6:00PM: Open Food Pantry hours - assist community members with selecting items 6:00PM - 7:00PM: Close the pantry studio space - organize the items that were not selected during pantry open hours To see available dates and times, please see the calendar below. 🚨 FIRST TIME VOLUNTEERS: Please complete a "First Time Volunteer" application linked at the bottom of this page. We want to ensure you receive all necessary training to be fully prepared for your first shift!🚨

Safety Information

For the safety of all, volunteers are asked to authorize and/or complete a few important checks and a brief training program prior to starting in your new role with us. Each volunteer is asked to provide three (3) references, authorize a background check (at the Y’s expense) and complete a 20-minute online training class on the importance of child abuse prevention. (Periodically we offer instructor-led child abuse training to supplement the online class.) This onboarding process has been streamlined for your ease. Links to start the credentialing process will be provided when you “click” the LEARN MORE and then VOLUNTEER buttons. As soon as this process is complete, we will reach out to welcome you as a Y volunteer and to determine a convenient date for the start of your valued volunteering at the YMCA.
