YMCA of Downtown Manchester
Want to make a difference in the lives of children? Here at the YMCA, we believe in helping children reach their full potential and making memories that will last a lifetime. The Downtown YMCA is currently seeking volunteers who are able to provide one-on-one interactions and build positive relationships with our students. Our program's focus is on supplementing academics, especially with a focus on reading skills. Volunteers will act as role models for our after-school students. Volunteers will be asked to enter brief biographical information, complete a background check, provide names and email addresses for three references, and a complete a 20-minute online course regarding child abuse prevention. An instructor-led class on the importance of child abuse prevention may also be requested prior to assisting in these Y programs. Links to start these credentials will be provided when you click the Volunteer button. We are so excited to have you help children gain reading skills and appreciation for this lifelong ability.
